Zeta Functions in Scattering Problems Evaluated on the Real Wave Number Axis

چکیده
Using the two-dimensional 3-disk system (in the A 1 representation) we compare the cluster phase shifts of the exact quantum mechanical problem with the corresponding cluster phase shift of the following semi-classical zeta functions: (a) the Gutzwiller-Voros zeta function, (b) the dynamical zeta function and (c) the quasi-classical determinant. Furthermore we show results for the squared moduli of the quantum mechanical and semi-classical determinants on the real wave number axis. As the cluster phase shifts are in principle measurable quantities, even experimentalists can now decide which of the three choices is the best.

A Fall Detection System based on the Type II Fuzzy Logic and Multi-Objective PSO Algorithm
The Elderly health is an important and noticeable issue; since these people are priceless resources of experience in the society. Elderly adults are more likely to be severely injured or to die following falls. Hence, fast detection of such incidents may even lead to saving the life of the injured person. Several techniques have been proposed lately for the fall detection of people, mostly cate...
متن کاملWave Equations in Transversely Isotropic Media in Terms of Potential Functions (RESEARCH NOTE)
A complete series of potential functions for solving the wave equations in an almost transversely isotropic media is presented. The potential functions are reduced to only one potential function particularly for axisymmetric wave propagation problems. The potential functions presented in this paper can be reduced to Lekhnitskii-Hu-Nowacki solution for elastostatics problems.
متن کاملA Zero Free Region for Hypergeometric Zeta Functions
This paper investigates the location of ‘trivial’ zeros of some hypergeometric zeta functions. Analogous to Riemann’s zeta function, we demonstrate that they possess a zero free region on a left-half complex plane, except for infinitely many zeros regularly spaced on the negative real axis.
متن کاملFinite range scattering wave function method for scattering and resonance lifetimes
A generic expression for the scattering wave function in terms of the full discrete spectral Green’s function on a finite range is used to obtain the “finite range scattering wave function (FRSW)” which is accurate over a finite range of the scattering coordinate. We show that the representation of the FRSW in a finite basis set can be used to compute the scattering matrix and related quantitie...
متن کاملA New Theorem Concerning Scattering of Electromagnetic Waves in Multilayered Metamaterial Spherical Structures
The proposed theorem in this paper is indicative of a kind of duality in the propagation of waves in the dual media of and in the spherical structures. Independent of wave frequency, the number of layers, their thickness, and the type of polarization, this theorem holds true in case of any change in any of these conditions. Theorem: Consider a plane wave incident on a multilayered spheric...
